Things to “Do” and “Not Do” to clear up acne naturally!

Acne can happen to just about anyone in any stage of life, however it is most common in kids who are just growing into the puberty stage of their lives. In adolescents, it often results from changes in the hormones in their bodies as they become mature.

This causes the said hormones to stimulate sebum production. And when this gets too much for the skin to handle, you begin to see the freckles and spots that signal the arrival of the condition. In certain instances, an arbitrary doctor might suggest that if you watched what you ate and drank you might be able to control the rate or extent to which you suffered from acne.

Whereas that is true, it is not always so. In the case of an outbreak of the condition all over your face, neck and arms, it cannot be prevented by a controlled diet. As a matter of fact, the best thing you can do for yourself at this time would be to see a genuine professional.

But what is most important: It’s what you “do” or “don’t do” that makes the difference. Often, you can clear your skin naturally by changing a few things.

Things to “Do” and “Not Do” to clear up acne naturally!

Here are things you should DO and NOT DO to treat acne:

DO

  • Shower regularly and after each workout or physical activity where you sweat.  Sweating is good for the skin, but the salt it leaves behind can clog your pores.
  • Eat healthier and add more vegetables to your diet.  Vegetables help clear toxins from your body. Carrots have Vitamin A, which is important in fighting acne.
  • Wash your pillowcase at least every other night—When you wash your face before you go to bed and lay your face against a dirty pillow case, you allow those germs to go right back into your cleaned pores.
  • Keep anything that touches your face clean with antibacterial wipes.  Things like cell phones, glasses or sunglasses, headphones or ear bud wires can carry bacteria that will infect your pores and make your acne worse.

DON’ T

  • Smoke—Smoking is bad anyway, and it will clog your pores and that is NOT good for acne.
  • Keep your hair in your face. It’s tempting to want to hide your acne with your hair, but that’s not good for infected skin.  Your hair has oil of its own.  When you allow it to hang over your acne, it will use that oil to clog your pores and increase your acne problems.
  • Pop or pick your acne. Each acne blemish contains bacteria. When you clean your face, then pop your zits, you allow that bacteria to go all over your face and spread to other areas of your face.
  • Stay up late—Missing sleep causes you to be more stressed. Life is hectic enough. Stress releases hormones that can cause acne. A good night’s rest and learning to manage your stress can help reduce acne flare-ups.

These are just a few, but they are important things for controlling acne problems.
